Gum disease is a major health concern and periodontics is about
making gums as healthy as possible. 76 Harley Street's periodontist is
experienced in all aspects of gum treatment. Treeatments include
placing implants in the gum to replace missing teeth and building up
(or augmenting) lost bone and gum.
It's important to have regular check-ups with your dentist as your
dentist will be able to see the signs of gum disease early on. You can
then have plaque and calculus (tartar) removed from the surface and
root of the teeth - and sometimes this needs to be done by our
specialist periodontist at 76 Harley Street.
What is a periodontist?
A periodontist is a dentist who specialises in the health and
treatment of the gums. Our periodontist is Dr Hatem Algraffee, who is
very experienced in all aspects of gum treatments.
Most patients who come to see Hatem are referred by their general dentist for an initial consultation.
Hatem is our periodontal specialist. He qualified from the Royal Dental
Hospital. He then gained experience in oral surgery and private
practice before embarking on a four year specialist training programme
in periodontology and implantology at Guy's Hospital.
